THE NACHMANI LAB
The Team

Principal Investigator
Daphna Nachmani, PhD
Daphna trained as an immunologist at HUJI, and completed her postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School, specializing in Hematology and Genetics. She is actively involved in research and maintains her own bench in the lab! :)

Lab Manager
Maram Arafat, PhD
Maram completed her PhD at Ben Gurion university, and a postdoctoral fellowship at HUJI. With a passion for advancing the field of RNA biology, she is developing innovative single-cell techniques to uncover new dimensions of RNA biology.

PhD Student
Ofri Rabany
Ofri focuses on the dynamics of rRNA modifications acrosss the hematopietic hierarchy. She aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms that underpin stem cell function, contributing to a deeper understanding of cellular processes.

PhD student
Neta Ifergan
Neta uses whole-genome CRISPRi screens to identify synthetic lethal interactions in acute myeloid leukemia, with the goal of uncovering novel therapeutic targets. She is also fascinated to reveal new molecular mechanisms that govern immune recognition of leukemia cells.

MSc student
Noga Ussishkin
Noga studies translational control beyond the ribosome during erythroid differentiation, with a particular focus on how cap-dependent translation regulates leukemia proliferation and cellular metabolism.

MSc Student
Sivan Ben-Dror
Sivan focuses on the lymphoid lineage, investigating essential rRNA modifications as potential therapeutic targets in B-cell and T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia.

Research Assistant
Pnina Glick
Pnina, together with Maram, studies viral–host interactions from an RNA methylation perspective. They investigate how viruses manipulate the host ribosome and how host cells deploy antiviral strategies in response.
